The state of Florida is inhabited by alligators in its many lakes, thus that’s where its name comes from. Gator is another name for alligator in the state of Florida and in other states. The university is veryfamous for many achievements, among them are, being the pioneer of creating the first ever sports drink, Gatorade, of having the fastest super computer among all universities in the United States, of having one of the best medical institutions in the whole country, among many more. The students that study there or have studied there call themselves Gators and they are virtually everywhere around the world. There is a saying that says “once a gator, forever a gator.” And wherever you are in the world rest assure that if you find a fellow gator they will have your back, because the gator brotherhood in very strong. If you ever see a Florida Gator do not forget to say to them, “Gooooooooo Gators!!!”
