今年のハロウィンはEnglish Gator Academyにとって興味深いものになりました。初めてハロウィンがあまり好きではない生徒が出てきて、私たちは少し驚きました。その生徒たちは、他の生徒たちのようにハロウィンが好きではなかったにもかかわらず、ハロウィンについて学んだり、ハロウィンのゲームをしたり、お菓子をもらったりして、とても楽しんでいました。学校の入り口に大きなアニマトロニクスの装飾があったのですが、生徒たちは少し驚いていました。日本では、ハロウィンは仮装をしてお菓子をもらうかわいい日だと思われていますが、世界ではハロウィンはかわいいものではありません。アメリカをはじめとする多くの西洋諸国では、ハロウィーンのために多くの家が屋内外にとても怖い装飾を施します。多くの人が自分の家をブロックの中で一番怖い家にするためにたくさんのお金を費やしますが、アメリカではそのような家の多くは価格を勝ち取るために飾り付けられており、オーナーが飾り付けをするのが好きだからというだけではありません。Happy Halloween!

English Gator Academy News

This Halloween has been an interesting one at English Gator Academy. For the first time ever we’ve got some students that do not like Halloween that much and we were a bit surprised to say the least. Even though those students did not really like Halloween as others do, they really enjoyed learning about Halloween, playing Halloween games, getting candy, etc. We had a big animatronic decoration at the entrance of the school and those students got a bit surprised. In Japan many people think of Halloween as a cute day to dress  up in costumes and ask for candy, but in the rest of the world Halloween is far from cute. In the US and many western countries many houses are decorated with very scary decorations inside and out for Halloween. Many people spend lots of money making their homes the scariest ones of the block, but in the US many of those homes are decorated so they can win a price and not only because the owners love to decorate. Happy Halloween!
